The seasons have been a curious blend of trials and blessings. Spring arrived with its usual flourish, the Elder Oak bursting into bloom and the Silver River swelling with snowmelt. Yet, the warmth brought more than flowers—vermin tracks were spotted near the Deep Woods. Fortunately, the village guards held them at bay with valor, and peace returned.
Summer was unusually dry. The crops suffered, and the bees grew restless, their honey stores dwindling. But we persevered, sharing what little we had. Old Ferment, the brewer, managed to coax a fine ale from the meager barley, lifting spirits during the Harvest Moon feast.
Autumn, too, was not without its challenges. A mysterious illness swept through the village, felling even the strong-hearted Elder Fernwhisker. It was thanks to brave adventurers who retrieved an elixir from the Forgotten Alchemist’s Lab that we were saved.
Now winter approaches, the air sharp and biting. Supplies are stacked high, and we huddle close to the hearth, thankful for another year survived in Mossburrow. The forest whispers of change, but we endure, as we always do.
